We offer a large range of dance classes and are confident that you will find one to suits your needs.  We believe that dance is for everyone; our pupils experience the joy of dancing. We encourage the children’s imagination and creativity.   We firmly believe that happy children learn more effectively, so we ensure that everyone enjoys themselves regardless of the dance style or standard.  We do not audition children.

Monument Dance Centre is the only private dance provider in Stirlingshire and one of three in Scotland which is SQA approved to enter students for SQA National Progression Award, Higher and Advanced Higher Dance and SQA NPA in Musical Theatre and National Certificate in Acting & Theatre Performance.

Although the atmosphere is relaxed and the emphasis is always on having fun, all pupils learn to work in a disciplined manner which ensures good progress and leads to the achievement of high performance standards.  Exams are not compulsory but those who choose to enter are given the very best coaching to help them prepare which means that our exam results are consistently excellent, 100% pass rate with many pupils gaining distinction.

By following the syllabus of both the RAD and ISTD our classes provide children with a wide variety of skills, physical and motor, and also aid cognitive and affective development.

Ballet – The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD)

Jazz/Modern & Tap – The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD)

ŸSQA Awards – All pupils studying at grade 4 level upwards will automatically be entered for the practical units of SQA NPA or Higher Dance with the option of completing the full awards by taking extra classes.

Pupils age 4 – 7 are presented for Performance Awards before the more formal exams at Grade 1 level.

Entrance to exams is at the teacher’s discretion.  All candidates must have the principal’s approval before entrance to any exam. We ask that parents and pupils respect our decisions regarding exam entries.
