Seniors S1 upwards – Grade 4 – 8

For students at secondary school we offer a range of classes;

Venue –  – in the interest of health and safety, we consider that senior classes have to be held in purpose built dance studios, with specialist flooring, wall barres and mirrors – Monument Dance Centre offers a safe and pleasant environment.

Ballet – The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)

Modern & Tap – The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD)

Commercial  Jazz – These classes combine all the latest dance moves – street dance, body poppin’, lockin, freestyle jazz and disco. Jazz awards medal tests are available in Bronze, Silver & Gold.

Contemporary – Junior and Senior classes available to dancers who attend Ballet & Modern classes

Musical Theatre IDTA – this fun syllabus includes elecution, vocal & drama exercises & song and dance routines. We strongly advise students to attend Drama & Dance classes in addition to MT.

SQA Awards – All pupils studying at grade 4 level upwards will offered the chance to be entered for the practical units of SQA National 4, National 5, Higher, NC or HNC Dance with the option of completing the full awards by taking extra classes.

 

ŸVocational Graded classes – For committed dancers, working at a faster pace leading to examinations which are recognised world wide as a basis for professional training.

Pupils should expect to do around 18 months in each class, although pupils who have poor attendance may spend longer in each grade while those who show exceptional talent and commitment may progress at a quicker pace. Pupils who show exceptional talent and commitment may progress quicker.
